Winter ROAD CONDITIONS: Packed snow, ice.

STORM DEBRIS DISPOSAL

The recent heavy snow fall has resulted in thousands of tree branches broken off and scattered across our properties. The LITCPOA has established two drop off locations for you to dispose of your storm debris. The first is on the LITC East Side common area and the second is beside the tennis court at LITC West Side. Look for the already forming piles of debris and, as neatly as possible, add yours to the stack.
THANK YOU!
Our LITC "Road Crew" is comprised of Ron Ferrara, Rich Everett, Jerry Benincasa, Bob Freudenberg, Dino Catozzo, Mike McGongile, and Charlie Schaffer. These wonderful folks have contributed over 90 man hours of work to date clearing our roads and common areas of storm debris. Work will continue for another week. If anyone else would like to help please call Charlie Schaffer at 676-4561 to find out the next scheduled work day.
2009 Budget Approved
The proposed 2009 LITCPOA annual budget was approved at the October General Membership Meeting. The budget requires a $50. increase to the annual membership assessments.

LITC Fishing Allowed
LITC has returned to normal levels and our normal fishing policy is back in effect. To avoid the need to stock the lake, a strong tradition of "catch and release" is encouraged.
Office Adminstrator/Hours

Our Office Administrator is Cheryl Howard. The new office hours are Monday from 2-6 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Notices
  • The President of Lake Jamie Property Owners Association has written to alert us they have begun work to construct their dam at Lake Jamie. The work is planned to continue to November 25th. We are requested to respect the posted area, and not enter the construction zone, so we remain safe and don't compromise their agreements surrounding the work.

  • Dam Safety Inspection Pennsylvania DEP has inspected our dam three times this summer, monitoring the progress of the dam leak repair. Their last inspection report of 7/30/08 stated "All work appears completed IAW approved plans and specifications. This is the final inspection of the work authorized by the Letter of Authorization dated May 7, 2007". Additionally, in their interim report of 7/16/08, the inspector states "Overall, the dam is in good condition. The owner is commended on their high level of maintenance. The Department thanks the Association for completing the on going repair work at the dam."

  • CULVERT & DRAINAGE CLEANOUT
  • All property owners are responsible for keeping drainage ditches and culverts on or bordering your property cleaned out and free of leaves and debris. When water cannot run freely it backs up and erodes our roads increasing our community maintenance costs. PLEASE! Once in the Fall after the leaves are down and once in the Spring before the heavy rains - take the time to clean out all your drainage areas.

    Newsletter to Accept Limited Advertising
The Lake in the Clouds Board discussed advertising at the November meeting and agreed to allow a small amount of advertising in our quarterly newsletter. Approximately six to eight business card sized ads may be inserted into the newsletter (as space allows). We will charge $50 per business card size ad per issue. Community members who wish to advertise should email Stacey Guthrie before all the space is committed.

LITCPOA Approval is REQUIRED for all new construction, lot improvements or alterations, grading, sewage system, water system, fences, and tree removal or logging. A newly developed LITCPOA Approval Certificate is to be posted wherever these changes are occuring. Anyone noting such changes where the Approval Certificate is not clearly displayed should call the LITCPOA Office or the LITCPOA Building Chairperson, Ron Ferrara as soon as possible. Click HERE for an application form to obtain an Approval Certificate.

    Library Corner
Anytime is a great time to sit back and enjoy reading a good book. I hope everyone is taking advantage of the variety to be found in our clubhouse Library Corner.

Unfortunately space is limited. We would be glad to recycle a few good books at a time if they are current and in excellent condition, but PLEASE DO NOT drop off boxes of books at the clubhouse.
